“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” Movie Review

A review of the concert film, from someone who went

“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” movie premiered Oct. 11 at The Grove theater in Las Angeles, California. Since then the movie has grossed $129.8 million dollars.
After being shown for the first time at The Grove, the movie was released to all other theaters on Oct. 13.
The movie is a recording of what it would be like to have a front row seat at the real concert, without having all the breaks for costume changing.
I liked being able to watch the concert from the comfort of a theater chair as opposed to the stadium chairs.
As someone who went to the concert, it was a great opportunity to relive the memories from the concert as well as being able to see it from a different perspective.
The atmosphere in the theater was similar to how a real concert would be. People were singing, dancing and yelling the cheers that were a staple of the tour.
This movie was an opportunity for people that were unable to get concert tickets to see what being at the concert would have been like.
I was not fond of the fact that five songs were removed from the set list of the movie. While I understand that the movie was very long and needed to be shortened, I would have preferred hearing less of Swift’s monologues and more music.
My favorite part of the movie was the song “Tolerate It.” There is detailed choreography, but it was hard to see during the real concert because of how far away I was. The movie gave me a new perspective of that song and what it represents to Taylor: feeling like she has given everything but it isn’t enough.
Overall the movie was great, but it did not nearly compare to the experience of a real concert. It has very high production quality, but the feeling of being at a real concert can not be replicated, even by a movie.
