“Tusk The Classic Fleetwood Mac Tribute” band was at the Stiefel Theater on Nov. 15. Many times during the show I would close my eyes and picture I was at a Fleetwood Mac show. The band was so similar to the original Fleetwood Mac it was almost uncanny.
They opened with a video of the “Rumors” album being put onto a record player and it immediately went into “The Chain.” They played two acts plus an encore. The show was roughly two hours and 30 minutes long, with an intermission.
I thought the show was absolutely amazing. My entire family attended the show and my 6- year-old brother got the drummer’s drum sticks at the end of the show.
They played my two favorite songs, which are “Silver Springs” and “Gypsy.” I however would have loved to hear “Gold Dust Woman” but they played a lot of their hits.
They also did a good job of not exactly trying to copy the band. They did sound like Fleetwood Mac and the main singer dressed like Stevie Nicks, but they had their own fun aspects as well.
For example during the bass player’s solo there was a rap portion and other songs from the 70s. Along with the drum solo, other songs from the 70s and 80s were played. It was a nice break from just Fleetwood Mac songs.
The only part of the show that I did not like was the very little amount of audience involvement. Obviously Fleetwood Mac was a band during the 70s and 80s so the target audience is older, however I would have loved to see people get up and dance. My family members were the only people up dancing the entire time.
I did not like the bathroom situation at the Stiefel Theater. The Stiefel Theater is a very old building so it can not be changed directly but I wish they could add more bathrooms. I almost missed the second act because I was waiting for the bathroom.
I got the opportunity to meet the band myself after the show. It was really amazing to see them up close and it is not everyday you get to meet the band.
Overall, the show was super fun and I had a very good experience listening to some of my favorite songs. I had an amazing time and the atmosphere was truly inspiring. It is an experience I will remember for a lifetime.
