The Andale Invitational ended with Azlan Presnell performing the best of the three Mustang girls golfers competing. She was followed by Braelyn Diggs and Mya Clark.
Clark and Presnell are some of the returning golfers for this year.
“Azlan Presnell, who is a junior, both her and Mya both competed really well at regionals last year,” girls golf coach Alyssa Waldron said. “This year is her second year, and I think she could have a good chance at qualifying as well.”
Clark and Presnell have plans to work on their goals for this season.
“Getting my putting down, because I’ve struggled with that,” Clark said. “Trying to make it like a two putt instead of like five.”
“Shoot lower than I have in previous years,” Presnell said of her biggest goal.
The junior varsity side involved a short course with a par of 36. Where they play the six par three holes twice.
“It’s a great group of kids and they all enjoy being out in the sun,” Waldron said. “They enjoy being outside, and the process of what golf is to them.”
The home meet ended with most of them having a lower stroke score than at the Hays meet.
