Salina Central’s JV football team has started off the season 1-1 following a 35-0 loss on Monday to Goddard-Eisenhower.

In week one, the Mustangs defeated Salina South 44-2 and sophomore quarterback Jack Gordon was great throwing the ball, coach Mark Vaughn said.

There are still holes to fill for this team as they look to prepare for the future, he said.

“Continuing to improve and build chemistry is our main focus right now,” Vaughn said.

The Mustangs’ next game will be at Emporia on Monday.
