Honestly I hope that everyone has fun and doesn’t stress about it, it’s just like any other tournament, and just as long as they all do their best I can’t be mad.”

— Junior Golfer Harlee Long

Salina Central’s girls golf team is headed to regionals next Monday, and Junior student Harlee Long is very excited for herself, and for her team. They have had a great season this year, according to her, and she is very proud of her team.

“We have done really good for having a lot of new people and to see that they have all come a long way with improving their score,” Long said.

Long believes they have a really good chance at placing, considering how much work they put in. Long also thinks that the team learns really well because they are open to new ideas.

“I think we will do very well because of putting in the effort and making it to every practice and being open minded to new ideas to improve,” Long said.

To Long, however, it doesn’t matter as much for them to place, but she hopes that everyone enjoys themselves and improves as normal. Long wants everyone to take it as a normal tournament and not get stressed out.

“Honestly I hope that everyone has fun and doesn’t stress out about it, it’s just like any other tournament, and just as long as they all do their best, I can’t be mad,” Long said.

Regionals are Monday, October 8, and the whole team is extremely excited.
