Up With People is a band who, through music and action, help children, teens, and communities become more trusting, hopeful, and peaceful.  Up with people has a legacy of about 48 years, they go on tours and empower young people like the people at central and communities all over the world. By showing kids performing in front of crowds and doing work in the community, they are hoping it will inspire kids to get out of their comfort zones.

Cloe Bernier, from Switzerland, is a performer with the Up With People organization, believes that having youth be the spotlight greatly impacts the audience.

” I think that when young people see other young people performing, that that helps relate with them,” Bernier said.

Up with People is very committed to what they do,  they go on tours all over the world to help young kids feel more comfortable and some of Centrals students got to be involved in this. There was a workshop held in the stem lab on Wednesday, September 19, and many students attended that meeting.

Up With People is always looking for new members.Evelyn Ripsom, from America, spoke out on what it was like when they first joined.

” Up with people was always around in my life, because my mom was involved in it. Then the summer before my junior year, I went to an annual reunion for my mom, and that was the first time I really experienced it and to see everything they were about, it just made me realize this is what I wanted to do,” Ripsom said.

Up with people has made an impact on people all around the world, and they made a big impact right here in the town of Salina, Kansas.
