Following a pretty good season for the Mustang Cross Country team, Coach Brad Dix announced that he will be resigning as Cross Country Coach. Many people were shocked to hear this announcement.

“The primary reason I resigned as cross country coach was to free up time in the fall to spend with my family. I have a son attending school in Boston, a daughter in school in Manhattan, and another one who will be playing baseball in college, and I wanted to free up time to visit them and enjoy this time in their lives with them and my wife.”  says Dix.

Right now Dix is fine with his decision, but knows that next Cross Country season he will miss it.

“At this point, I’m ok, but I know that when fall rolls around, and I see the kids heading to practice after school that I will miss it and them, but I will love being able to spend time with my own family.” explains Dix.

Some of the players on the team responded to Dix’s resignation as well.

For Sophomore Brandon Falcon, He will miss Dix being his coach that led him to state.

“We had a great season,” Said Falcon. “Dix was a great coach and things won’t be the same without him.”

Obviously Dix impacted his team by connecting with them on a personal level.

With his resignation many people and runners are sad to see him go, but happy that he can move on and have time for his family and kid’s college.
